Day 5 — Synthesis & Life Compass
Time: ~80 min · Goal: build the artifact, then test it against your actual life.
Today you assemble the compass and pressure-test it against the five dimensions of your life. The compass is useless if it doesn’t change what you do.
1. Assemble your compass (20 min)
Open templates/life-compass.md and fill it in using
your work from Days 2–4: values (ranked, with meanings), passion themes, purpose
statement, and non-negotiables.
Tip: copy the template to
my-compass.mdat the repo root so the blank template stays clean for future annual redos.

2. Test against the five dimensions (40 min)
For each dimension ask: Is my current setup aligned with the compass? Where’s the gap?
Career
- Does my work let me live my values daily, or require me to suppress them? __
- Does it use my passions, or just my skills? __
- Is it serving my purpose, or unrelated to it? __
- One specific change that would move this closer to aligned: __
Money
- Am I earning and spending in service of what I value, or of habits/expectations? __
- What am I overspending on that doesn’t serve the compass? __

3. Realignment moves (15 min)
From the five “one change” answers, pick the 1–2 you’ll actually do in the next 90 days. Be ruthless.

- Quarterly: Re-read. Adjust compass items that no longer fit. Pick next 90-day moves.
- Annually: Redo Day 5 in full. Optionally redo a single earlier day if something feels off.
